The story
About NWA Today
One local, 250+ sources, and a simple idea: everything happening in Northwest Arkansas, in one trustworthy place.
Northwest Arkansas has more going on than anywhere its size — a world-class art museum, a legendary Dickson Street stage, 25+ live-music venues in Eureka Springs alone, and a festival calendar that runs from the Grape Festival (since 1898) to film premieres. What it never had was one place that tracked all of it.
NWA Today is that place. It's run by one person who lives here, with a scraping pipeline doing the tireless part and a human doing the judgment part.
1
Machines gather
Every night, our pipeline reads 250+ local sources — venue calendars, city sites, chambers, libraries, nonprofits — across all 28 towns.
2
A human checks
Every event gets verified before it's published: real date, real venue, no duplicates, no spam. The queue gets cleared by a person, not an algorithm.
3
You get one email
Wednesday morning, the week's best — picked by hand, written like a friend who knows what's actually worth it. "$5 cover, doors at 8" beats "don't miss this amazing event!"
How the lights stay on
Two ways, both disclosed. Local venues and organizers buy labeled placements for their events. And a small directory of home-service pros — roofing, HVAC, plumbing — pay for verified placement through our partner program, The Booked Jobs System, which we also run. Same owner, two brands, zero secrets: the disclosure page spells out every dollar path, and the verification standards are public.
