Things to do in Centerton
Centerton, named for its spot at the center of Benton County, began as a railroad stop and apple-processing town and is now one of the fastest-growing cities in the region. Most of what there is to do here is outdoors and free: a splash pad at McKissic Station Park, an all-inclusive playground and BMX trail at Cornerwoods Park, a pump track, and the state fish hatchery on Fish Hatchery Road. On North Main Street, HGTV's Dave and Jenny Marrs run a shop in the town's 1905 bank building.
- Downtown Main Street
- The old downtown sits along North Main Street, with City Park at 290 N. Main and Marrs Mercantile at 289 N. Main in the 1905 bank building. The city has remodeled part of the old City Hall on Main Street for the senior citizens group and community gatherings, and plans a sharing library and retail space in the front.
- Cornerwoods Park and Seba Road
- Cornerwoods Park on Queen Street has the all-inclusive playground, BMX trail, dog park and a fishing area. A connecting trail leads to the city's pump track on Seba Road.
- Allen Road and McKissic Station Park
- McKissic Station Park at 301 Allen Road is the city's main park, with the splash pad, a covered playground, disc golf and a small lake. The city is building Phase 2 of the McKissic Trail along Allen Road to Town Vu Road, where Bentonville will continue the trail.
- Fish Hatchery Road
- The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission's C.B. "Charlie" Craig State Fish Hatchery is at 977 West Fish Hatchery Road. Its shallow ponds draw waterbirds and shorebirds.

McKissic Station Park and Splash Pad
Family · Kids in summer (splash pad), disc golf
The city calls this its main park. It has Centerton's splash pad, a large covered playground, a walking trail, disc golf, and access to a small lake and stream. Fishing is allowed and swimming is not. The city's 2026 State of the City address reported new shade structures over the splash pad and upgraded playground equipment.

Cornerwoods Park
Family · Kids of all abilities, BMX riders, dog owners
The city reported this park complete in its 2026 State of the City address. It has an all-inclusive, wheelchair-accessible playground, public restrooms with drinking fountains, lighting, a designated fishing area, and access to walking trails. There is also a BMX trail with a small trick and ramp course, and a dog park with separate large-dog and small-dog sections and safety gates.

Centerton Pump Track
Outdoors · Bikes and scooters
The city's pump track is open to the public. The city says it sits a short distance from Cornerwoods Park and can be reached by a connecting trail, so it pairs well with the BMX trail there.
1251 Seba Rd., Centerton, AR 72719

Riverwood Park
Family · Dog owners, young kids
This neighborhood park has a large dog park and a large playground, and the city's pump track was built near it. The park also has a pond, but fishing is not allowed there.
850 Kimmel Rd., Centerton, AR 72719

C.B. "Charlie" Craig State Fish Hatchery
Outdoors · Bird-watchers, kids' fishing derby in June
This Arkansas Game and Fish Commission hatchery dates to 1938, when Bentonville's Charlie Craig raised the money to buy the spring and land, much of it in two-dollar donations. Its shallow ponds turn into mudflats when they are drained. AGFC says that makes it the only significant wetland left in the area for waterbirds and shorebirds and gives it real importance for bird-watching. Each June it holds a free fishing derby for kids 18 and under and their families during Free Fishing Weekend. AGFC does not post visiting hours, so check before you go.

Marrs Mercantile
Shopping
Dave and Jenny Marrs, of HGTV's Fixer to Fabulous, restored the building that first housed the Centerton Bank in 1905 and turned it into a shop. It sells home goods, books, kids' things and work by artisans the couple has worked with for years. A covered patio looks over a play garden Dave built for kids.

Centerton's apple-town history
History
Before the town existed, McKissick Spring was a landmark here, and two divisions of Union troops camped at the spring on March 5, 1862, on their way to Pea Ridge. The town was laid out in 1900 at a railroad stop and grew around apple evaporators, a vinegar plant and a barrel-making shop. It earned the nickname "Apple Capital of the World" after its apples won prizes at the 1900 World's Fair in Paris. At the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair, the Coffelt apple, developed by a Centerton farmer, won top honors.
