Ice skating in Bentonville and Northwest Arkansas
Northwest Arkansas has two public ice rinks. The Jones Center in Springdale is indoors and open all year, with public skate Tuesday through Sunday for $8 plus $4 skate rental. The Rink at Lawrence Plaza in downtown Bentonville is the city's outdoor winter rink: it opens Saturday, Nov 21, 2026, at $7 a session with skates included, and tickets go on sale Nov 1. We didn't find a public ice rink in Fayetteville or Rogers. Hours and prices are from each rink's own site as posted Oct 9, 2026.
Orange pins and badges are open this weekend, from each place's posted schedule.
The essentials
Year-round vs seasonal
- Year-round
- The Jones Center, Springdale: an indoor rink with public skate Tuesday–Sunday. The center is closed Nov 13, Nov 26, Dec 24, Dec 25 and Dec 31.
- Seasonal
- The Rink at Lawrence Plaza, Bentonville: a 7,000-square-foot outdoor rink. The city turns the chiller on in the winter months, November to February. It opens Saturday, Nov 21, 2026; the 2026–27 closing date isn't posted yet.
- Fayetteville & Rogers
- No public ice rink that we could find, and no holiday rink announced for 2026. The Jones Center in Springdale is the closest from either town.
- Weather
- The Bentonville rink is outdoors. For open/closed status, Bentonville Parks & Rec points you to the "Check Status" button on playbentonville.com, or call the rink at 479-271-3390.

What to bring
- Skates
- Both rinks rent them: $4 at the Jones Center, included in the $7 ticket at Lawrence Plaza. Lawrence Plaza stocks kids' sizes 9–13 and adult sizes 1–15.
- Gloves
- Bentonville Parks & Rec's first-day guide says gloves or mittens aren't just for warmth: they protect your hands when you fall and push back up.
- Socks & layers
- One pair of thin socks (thick ones make bumps inside the boot). Layers and a jacket, even indoors: the city's guide says rinks keep the thermostat around 50°. Sweatpants beat bulky snow pants.
- Helmet
- The city's guide says all beginning skaters should wear one (ASTM F1447 or Snell B-90A, B-95 or N-94), snug and worn low on the forehead.
- Waiver
- The Jones Center needs an active waiver for everyone who skates; you can sign it online before you go.
