Christmas tree farms in Northwest Arkansas
Three farms close to NWA have posted their 2026 seasons. Porky Pines Tree Farm in Huntsville opens for its first season on Friday, Nov 20. Wonderland Tree Farm in Pea Ridge opens Saturday, Nov 21, with only nine open days through Dec 12, so don't wait for the last weekend. Christmas Tree Lane, south of Ozark, also opens Nov 21. Lollis Tree Farm in Rudy is taking photography bookings for 2026 but hasn't posted its tree-sale dates yet. Arkansas farms grow mostly Virginia pine and Leyland cypress, per the UA Division of Agriculture. Fraser firs don't grow here, so the ones you see are pre-cut and shipped in. Everything below comes from each farm's own site, with prices as posted Oct 10, 2026.
Orange pins and badges are open this weekend, from each place's posted schedule.
The essentials
Picking a tree (UA Extension)
- Bring
- Gloves, because the needles can be sharp. Measure the spot at home first, height and width.
- Fresh
- Soft branches mean a hydrated, fresh tree.
- Trunk
- A straight trunk is easier to fit in the stand.
- Branches
- Check that they're sturdy enough for your ornaments. Leyland cypress drops no needles but has weaker branches. Scotch pine drops needles but has stronger ones.

Keeping it fresh (UA Extension)
- Freshest lasts longest
- That's why choose-and-cut trees last. Most pre-cut trees have been sprayed with a desiccant to hold moisture.
- What grows here
- Arkansas farms grow mostly Virginia pine, Leyland cypress, Arizona cypress and eastern red cedar, plus a little Scotch pine in the northwest corner. Fraser fir doesn't grow here. Most pre-cut Fraser firs sold in Arkansas come from North Carolina.
- Water
- Check the water level and mist the tree now and then. It will still dry out after a few weeks.
- After Christmas
- Recycle it in your yard or pond. Never burn it in the fireplace.
- No-cut zones
- You can't cut a tree on state or federal land, and you shouldn't cut one on private land without the owner's permission.
