Dog parks & dog-friendly places in Northwest Arkansas

10 off-leash dog parks across 6 towns, plus leashed trails, patios, and stores that welcome dogs in writing. Every rule below comes from the park's, venue's or company's own page. If only a tourism list says so, it goes in the call-ahead box.

Before you go

  • Leash by default. Greenways, city trails and museum grounds want dogs leashed and under control. Off-leash means inside a fenced dog park (or at Lake Wilson).
  • Bag it. Every city page that posts rules asks for it.
  • Mind the pavement. Arkansas asphalt stays hot well into September. Go early or late, and bring water.
  • Service animals aren't pets. The ADA covers them separately, so a place that says no to pets may still welcome a service dog.

Off-leash dog parks, by town

Fenced (or at Lake Wilson, very large) places where the leash comes off. Most ask for a leash at the gate, current tags, and a limit on dogs per person.

  • Bentonville Bark Park

    Bentonville

The city's fenced off-leash park, with separate large- and small-dog areas plus agility equipment. Leash on to enter and exit, license and ID tags required, and no more than three dogs per adult.

    Bentonville

Peel Compton's Osage Park has a dedicated dog park. Everywhere outside it, including the wetland trails, dogs stay on a leash and waste goes in the bin.

Call ahead

People bring dogs to these, and some tourism lists say they're fine, but the place itself hasn't published a rule. Call before you go.

  • Pedaler's Pub and other tourism-listed Bentonville patios. Named on Visit Bentonville's dog list; the venues haven't published a pet policy.
  • Compton Gardens and Coler Preserve. No written dog rule on Peel Compton's pages. Crystal Bridges' leash rule applies on its trail segments; assume leashed elsewhere.
  • Lake Leatherwood (Eureka Springs) and Tanyard Creek (Bella Vista). Popular walks without published pet rules. Eureka Parks: 479-253-7921.
  • Lowe's, Home Depot, Tractor Supply, Petco, Marshalls, HomeGoods. Often dog-tolerant, but no written corporate policy we could find; it's the store manager's call.
  • Barnes & Noble. Varies store by store, and the café is usually off-limits under health rules. Service animals are always fine.
  • Tails & Trails Dog Park (Siloam Springs) and the K9 Corral (Bella Vista). Both exist; we haven't confirmed hours, rules, or (for the K9 Corral) whether it's open beyond POA members.
  • Gearhead Outfitters and Gear Garden. Two different places (a Bentonville outfitter; a seasonal Bella Vista venue). Neither lists a pet policy.
