Bike trails in Northwest Arkansas

Where to ride in NWA if you're not chasing black diamonds: the Razorback Greenway and each town's paved trails, the easiest dirt to start on, and where to rent a bike or e-bike. Trail lengths and rules are from the city, state park or trail manager that runs each one. Where two official sources disagree, we show both. For every mountain bike system, see our trail directory.

Orange pins and badges are open this weekend, from each place's posted schedule.

The essentials

The Razorback Greenway

Length
40 miles, paved, from south Fayetteville (Kessler Mountain) through Springdale, Lowell, Rogers and Bentonville to Bella Vista

Every Greenway section in Fayetteville is lit (the city's 9.4 miles). Bentonville's trails are open sunrise to sunset.

E-bike rules, by who runs the trail

Arkansas State Parks (Hobbs, Devil's Den)
Class 1 pedal-assist only on bike trails; Class 2 and 3 on park roads only (state regulation)
OZ Trails
Class 1 allowed; Class 3 only on roads
Coler (Peel Compton)
Class 1 e-bikes and OneWheels and under; nothing motorized
City of Bella Vista (Back 40, Little Sugar, Blowing Springs)
Class 1 only; trails open 5 AM–10 PM
OZ Trails Bike Park
Class 1 only; no throttle bikes
City of Fayetteville
The city says e-bikes are permitted on its trails, 15 mph max on paved trails. A reported 2023 Class-1-only rule for dirt trails isn't on the city's pages; ride Class 1 on dirt to be safe.
Bentonville & Rogers
Their trail-rule pages say motor vehicles are prohibited and set 15 mph (Bentonville) but don't name e-bike classes. Bentonville requires helmets for riders 14 and under.

On the calendar

Verified events for the season, updated every night.

Call ahead

These come up in older roundups, but nothing official confirms a 2026 season yet.

  • Bentonville e-bike classes. The city's trail rules don't name e-bike classes. Ask Bentonville Parks (479-464-7275) before riding a Class 2 or 3 on city trails.
  • Lake Bella Vista loop. Bentonville says the 1.75-mile loop isn't fully open while a new bridge is designed.
  • Mileage that doesn't match. Official figures disagree for Slaughter Pen (23+, 30+ or 40+ miles), Kessler (13 or 20) and Centennial (20+ or 12). Our trail pages show every figure with its source.

Quick answers

How long is the Razorback Greenway?
40 miles, paved, from south Fayetteville to Bella Vista, per the regional planning commission that manages it. It runs through Springdale, Lowell, Rogers and Bentonville on the way.
Where can I park to ride the Razorback Greenway?
The official map marks lots at Kessler Mountain, Walker Park, Gulley Park and Lake Fayetteville in Fayetteville; Luther George Park and Lake Springdale in Springdale; the Horsebarn trailhead and the Railyard in Rogers; and the Bark Park, Park Springs and Metfield in Bentonville.
Are e-bikes allowed on NWA trails?
Class 1 (pedal-assist) e-bikes are allowed on OZ Trails, state parks, Coler and Bella Vista's trails. Class 2 and 3 rules vary: state parks keep them to roads, and OZ Trails keeps Class 3 to roads. Bentonville's and Rogers' trail rules don't name classes, and Fayetteville says e-bikes are permitted, 15 mph on paved trails.
Where can I rent a bike in Bentonville?
Phat Tire, Mojo, GHO Cycle House, The HUB, Bentonville Bicycle Co., E-Bike Bentonville, SCOTT Adventure Lab and OZ E-Bikes all rent. As posted in September 2026, city e-bikes run about $45–$75 a day and e-mountain bikes $100–$140.
Is the Razorback Greenway lit at night?

Coler's easy loops (from 1.4 miles) in Bentonville, the Lake Fayetteville trail, and the 3-mile Outlaw Loop at Devil's Den. Pump tracks at the Railyard (Rogers) and the Jones Center (Springdale) are good for kids.
