Know before you go
- Parking
- WAC has no lot of its own. The closest and largest city lots are the new West Avenue parking deck (between Dickson and Lafayette, entered from Maple St or Lafayette St) and the Spring Street parking deck. Pay with the ParkMobile app or at the kiosks. Private lots nearby are also open to the public; check the signs to see how to pay. You can buy premier reserved parking in the Spring Street deck for select shows. It is typically not offered for Starr Theater shows or special events. It is available 2 hours before the show and valid until 1 hour after. For guests with mobility needs, WAC suggests drop-off and pick-up at the Dickson Street loading zone in front of the building. source
- Ages
- No one under 13 is admitted without a parent or guardian. Every patron must have a ticket. Parents should use discretion, as some shows contain mature content. source
- Bags & what to leave home
- Staff may ask for all large bags and large umbrellas to be placed in Coat Check for the performance. Items are inspected before Coat Check accepts them. Weapons and firearms are prohibited, even with a permit, and all patrons are screened before entering. source
- Box office
- Lobby hours Mon–Fri 10am–2pm. Phone hours Mon–Fri 10am–5pm. Both open 60 minutes before most performances. Will Call is in the Walmart Lobby near the West Ave. entrance, and ID is required. Tickets are digital by default. WAC is the only authorized seller for WAC, Nadine Baum Studios and Walmart AMP events. source
- Food & drink
- Concessions sell snacks (candy, nuts, chips), soft drinks, wine, beer, cider and liquor with mixers. Some performances have a specialty drink. Items bought at concessions may be taken into the performance hall. No outside food or drinks are allowed in the building. source
- Accessibility
- ADA parking is available in all lots around WAC, including the Spring Street and West Avenue garages. Starting 2 hours before shows, several parallel spaces on southbound West Avenue become ADA spaces (you still pay by ParkMobile, zone 33011, or at a kiosk). There are ramps at the Dickson Street and West Avenue entries, and a lift on house right in Baum Walker Hall for wheelchair seating and rows A–J. Assistive listening: RF devices from will call (ID or card may be held), the ListenWiFi app, and AuraCast. ASL interpretation is available for most performances with two weeks' notice. Complimentary wheelchairs are in the Walker Atrium. Sensory bags are available at will call. source
- Good to know
- Coming from the south, WAC suggests the Spring Street deck (via MLK Blvd to School Ave, or College Ave to Spring St) and heading back south when you leave to avoid the West Ave/Dickson intersection. Coming from the north, use the West Avenue deck. Set up ParkMobile before you arrive to skip the kiosk lines. source
